As we gain awareness, perspective and “new” truths, our next step is to integrate this into learning that is relevant to us. We must ask, “How is this applicable now?”, or “What meaning do I make for myself now?”.
With mindfulness-based methods, we gain deeper and broader perspectives of ourselves and of others. As we understand something new about ourselves or another, we get that feeling of that “a ha” experience. Mindfulness helps us integrate that ah-ha experience into a new way of being.
Mindfulness-Based methods are all geared towards experiential learning. Through your trying new ways of being, you will learn what works and what doesn’t. I encourage my clients to be “radical experimenters” in their lives – to consider and try new possibilities, see how they work, follow their developing intuition which results in ongoing learning and new discovery.
Learning leads to wisdom, but wisdom is not enough for growth. Learning plus action lead to growth.
